Seattle rapper Macklemore was born Ben Haggerty. In 2010, he began collaborating with DJ Ryan Lewis. Their album 'The Heist' gained attention in 2012 with global hit "Thrift Shop". Fellow Seattle performer Mary Lambert added female vocals on "Same Love", a song the 3 artists co-wrote. This same sex marriage anthem reached #11 in the USA and 6 in Britain. The single topped the charts in Australia and New Zealand.

Latino superstar Ricky Martin released "She Bangs" in 2000. The floorfiller was written by Robi Rosa, Walter Afanasieff and Desmond Child. It was included on his 'Sound Loaded' album.

Australian Jason Donovan was a long way from the TV soap "Neighbours" when he took on the lead role in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" musical on London's West End. "Close Every Door" features poignant lyrics from Tim Rice set to music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Issued in 1991.

"Part Time Love" found Elton John without regular lyricist Bernie Taupin. The song, included on his 1978 'A Single Man' album, was co-written with Gary Osborne.
