was from the film ‘Lady Sings The Blues’ which starred Diana Ross (who sang the
film version), a major influence on young Michael. At the time, both were on
the Motown label. Michael’s remake was included on his 1973 album ‘Music &
Me’. The song was written by Michel Legrand with Motown titan Smokey Robinson.
Hal Davis produced Michael’s version. The single was re-released in 1983.
