THE 2023 EUROVISION SONGS RANKED IN ORDER. This post: #15-11.
Continues TOMORROW.
EUROVISION 2023
THE 37 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has decreased to 37 with the absence of Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro. This year, the ESC will be held in host city Liverpool, England in May. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song.

BREAK A BROKEN HEART
Andrew Lambrou
Cyprus
This year’s Contest will see 2 Australian acts competing. Both had tried unsuccessfully in the past to represent Australia (as recently as in 2022) at Eurovision. Andrew Lambrou’s parents come from Cyprus. He is representing that nation this year. He will compete in Semi-Final 2 and, with the combination of vocal talent and good looks, deserves to progress to the Grand Final. Cyprus has endured one of the Contest’s longest waits to achieve a win. Sadly, that will not happen this year.

POWER
Diljá
Iceland
Just like Cyprus, Iceland has been copmpeting for decades
without ever securing a victory at Eurovision. Diljá has a powerful song and
stands a good chance to move from Semi-Final 2 to the Grand Final. She will be
performing after the Cypriot entry. 2023 will not be Iceland's year.
#13
UNICORN
Noa Kirel
Israel
Right from the intro, this song demands attention. It sets
things up effectively for the Eurovision stage. “Unicorn” will be competing in the
first Semi-Final. It deserves to qualify for the Grand Final. It sounds
contemporary and should be presented in a strikingly memorable manner. Watch this one as it could be a dark horse within the Top 10 by night's end.
#12
WATERGUN
Remo Forrer
Switzerland
Remo Forrer will compete in Semi-Final 1. Some may dismiss this entry as “Arcade Part 2”, but while its structure evokes memories of that Dutch winning song, this entry possesses a timely anti-war message. It is well sung and deserves to be in the Grand Final, even if its chance of winning overall is minimal.
#11
WE ARE ONE
Wild Youth
Ireland
Ireland has a mixed history at Eurovision. No country has won the Contest as many times, with the Irish holding the record with 7. Since its last victory, Irish songs have struggled to maintain that momentum. Too often, Ireland has failed to qualify for the Grand Final. “We Are One” conveys a strong positive message of cohesion which should be appreciated across Europe. Wild Youth will compete during Semi-Final 1 and deserve a place in the Grand Final. This entry will not bring Ireland an eighth win. 2023 could be the year that sees Sweden equal the record for most wins.
