THE 2023 EUROVISION SONGS RANKED IN ORDER. This post: #30-26.
Continues next weekend.
EUROVISION 2023
THE 37 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has decreased to 37 with the absence of Bulgaria, North Macedonia and Montenegro. This year, the ESC will be held in host city Liverpool, England in May. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song.

#30
BURNING DAYLIGHT
Mia Nicolai & Dion Cooper
Netherlands
The Dutch entry is satisfactory, with moments evoking memories of winning song “Arcade”. It deserves to progress to the Grand Final from the first Semi, but has no chance of giving The Netherlands another Eurovision win.
#29
EAEA
Blanca Paloma
Spain
Spain is going with a very different type of entry which incorporates a modern take on flamenco music and will be sung in Spanish. As one of the “Big 5” countries, it has pre-qualified for a spot in the Grand Final. It will be interesting to see if the televoters embrace the novel approach.
#28
ECHO
Iru
Georgia
Georgia has yet to win at Eurovision. Its 2023 entry is unlikely to change that situation. “Echo” has interesting elements musically, but may prove to be too much in Semi-Final 2. The song will be performed in English.
#27
PROMISE
Voyager
Australia
Officially, 2023 is the last year of participation at Eurovision for Australia. Whether that will be extended is yet to be seen. If this is Australia’s swansong, it is a disappointing end to the country’s involvement. “Promise” will compete in Semi-Final 2 and should stand out enough to qualify for the Grand Final, but the song is below par by Australian standards. It sounds outdated and messy.
#26
LIKE AN ANIMAL
Piqued Jacks
San Marino
San Marino has struggled to find its Eurovision niche. “Like An Animal” continues the attitude of 2022’s “Stripper”. It’s catchy, but may struggle in Semi-Final 2 against stronger entries.
