"Cruel Summer" was co-written by the members of Bananarama with Steve Jolley and Tony Swain. The trio recorded the original version which reached #8 and #9 in the UK and US respectively in 1983. Ace Of Base covered the song and returned it to the Top 10 on both sides of the Atlantic.
