"Hold Me Close" was written by English singer David Essex. The track was produced by Jeff Wayne who later created the best-selling album 'War Of The Worlds' in 1978. Essex was one of the LP's featured vocalists, alongside Justin Hayward (The Moody Blues), Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy), Julie Covington and narrated by actor Richard Burton.
