EUROVISION 2021
THE 39 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has decreased to 39 with the withdrawal of Armenia and Belarus being disqualified. After being cancelled last year, the 2021 ESC will go ahead in Rotterdam in May. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song.

MATA HARI
Efendi
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan won Eurovision in 2011 with “Running Scared”. The country has often offered strong entries. Efendi was set to represent Azerbaijan in 2020 with the strong song “Cleopatra”. In 2021, she is back and celebrating another woman from history: Mata Hari. To be performed in English in Semi-Final 1, the entry may struggle to qualify. This song is too similar to her previous entry. It will need to face off against stronger competitors in order to make the Grand Final. Should it be successful doing so, Efendi will not bring a second victory to her homeland.
