EUROVISION 2021

THE 39 SONGS

(in order of preference)

The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has decreased to 39 with the withdrawal of Armenia and Belarus being disqualified. After being cancelled last year, the 2021 ESC will go ahead in Rotterdam in May. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.

*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song.

39- PORTUGAL; 38- SLOVENIA; 37- LATVIA; 36 – RUSSIA; 35- UKRAINE; 34- ROMANIA;

33- ESTONIA; 32- GEORGIA; 31- SERBIA; 30- ALBANIA

29- THE NETHERLANDS; 28- GERMANY; 27- CZECH REPUBLIC; 26- CROATIA;

25- MOLDOVA; 24- IRELAND; 23- AZERBAIJAN; 22- FINLAND

#21

HERE I STAND

Vasil

North Macedonia

Official cover for "Here I Stand"

In 2019, North Macedonia achieved its best Eurovision result yet with the powerful entry “Proud”. This was a vast improvement and deserved its place within the Top 10 in the Grand Final. The quality has been sustained with Vasil’s entry. His 2020 song “You” was weaker. He is back this year with a better showcase of his vocal skill. The ballad will be performed in English during Semi-Final 1. It will face tough competition among the semi-finalists. The audience may dismiss it as too similar to a show tune. It sounds as if it ought to be in “Les Miserables”. It won’t win, but at least North Macedonia is delivering better songs for the annual contest.
