#1015 MAGIC NIGHTS Village People
The Village People formed in 1977 when producer Jacques Morali decided to put together a group based on various characters that he was convinced would attract a gay fan base. The group did score several hits in the late 70s. As that decade was nearing its end, the Village People starred in a film entitled 'Can't Stop the Music'. Morali and regular collaborator Henri Belolo co-wrote all 10 of the soundtrack's songs, including "Magic Nights". As had been the case on other Village People cuts, lead singer Victor Willis also contributed to the composition. The album fared significantly better than the film upon its release in 1980.
