#1063 (I DON'T KNOW WHY) BUT I DO Clarence "Frogman" Henry
Louisiana- born Clarence Henry had a croak that reminded listeners of a frog- hence the nickname "Frogman". Born in 1937, this R&B legend gained success as a vocalist, pianist and songwriter. That froggy sound was put to good effect on his Top 20 single "Ain't Got No Home" in late 1956. His next hit arrived 5 years later. Written by Paul Geyton and Robert Guidry, "But I Do" peaked at #4 on the US chart.
