CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#372 EVERY TIME I THINK OF YOU The Babys
Following the worldwide breakthrough of prior single "Isn't It Time", The Babys released a song that followed a similar structure, written by the same team. With a sound preceding the power ballad's halcyon days, "Every Time I Think Of You" proved a worthy 2nd hit single.
The song was penned by Jack Conrad and Ray Kennedy. Ron Nevison produced again. The track was included on the group's 3rd album 'Head First'. That LP was issued in 1978, amid internal turmoil for the band. Its founding member Michael Corby had gone and when the group presented their new album to their label, it wasn't considered good enough for release. The Babys added 2 new members: Jonathan Cain and Ricky Phillips and returned to the studio.
"Every Time..." reached #13 in America and made the Australian and Canadian Top 10s. Sadly, this was the band's final Top 40 hit. In 1981, The Babys called it a day. Lead singer John Waite launched a solo career which produced the US #1 single "Missing You" in 1984. Keyboardist Cain joined rock group Journey. Wally Stocker played guitar for Australian band Air Supply. In 1987, Cain, Waite and Phillips re-united as part of the group Bad English. They achieved an American #1 hit with "When I See You Smile" 2 years later.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
