CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#356 CAN'T GIVE YOU ANYTHING (BUT MY LOVE) The Stylistics
By 1974, The Stylistics' catalogue was mostly made up of lush ballads. As the musical mood changed with the emergence of disco, the R&B group recognized a new direction was needed. They recruited the help of songwriter/ producers Hugo Peretti and Luigi Creatore. This move proved fruitful and its best result was the gorgeous love song "Can't Give You Anything". George David Weiss, who had helped pen "Can't Help Falling In Love" for Elvis Presley, also contributed to the writing of this hit for The Stylistics.
Peretti and Creatore produced the track which was released as a single in 1975. While it only reached #51 in America, the disc made the Australian Top 40. On the British chart, the single spent 3 weeks at #1.
During the Eighties, various members left, including lead singer Russell Tompkins Jr. Airrion Love is still a member of the Stylistics that tours to this day. At present, Tompkins performs with his own version of the legendary group.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
