ABBATHE 40 MOST IMPORTANT SONGS
38 MERRY-GO-ROUND Writers: Benny Andersson / Bjorn Ulvaeus
March 29, 1972 saw the first genuine ABBA recordings cut: "People Need Love" and "Merry-Go-Round". The latter was issued as the B-side for the former track. It was later added as a bonus on re-issues of ABBA's 1st album 'Ring Ring'. After the success of "She's My Kind Of Girl" in Japan, "Merry-Go-Round" was a deliberate attempt to create a new hit in that market, hence its sad lyrical content and "Oriental-flavoured" intro.39 WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE
