Recording "Chiquitita" began in mid-December 1978. The group donated their royalties from the song to UNICEF for a compilation featuring songs from the Bee Gees, Earth, Wind & Fire, Andy Gibb, Rod Stewart and Donna Summer among others. The success of this beautiful ballad means that it proved lucrative for the charity. It remains one of the group's most cherished songs, no doubt due to Agnetha's great lead vocal. It served as the lead single from ABBA's 'Voulez Vous' album.
