ABBA began working on "S.O.S." in late August 1974 and the classic hit was included on the group's eponymous album. On this track, the group places Agnetha centre stage and she delivers her best vocal thus far. The musical production enhances the aural pleasure of the song that revealed ABBA's developing songcraft. It was with "S.O.S." that ABBA finally established itself as a consistent producer of hits. No longer was ABBA a one-hit-wonder. The group's global domination expanded further than it had with previous releases. After this song, ABBA had entrenched itself in the annals of popular music.
