To be eligible, the songs need to have been first heard in
association with a film from the last 60 years (although some exceptions do
exist where the song gained a higher profile after its use in a motion
picture)- so no songs from “West Side Story”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Les
Miserables” or “The Sound Of Music” and other films that first started out as
stage musicals.

GONNA FLY NOW (Theme from 'Rocky')

(‘The Greatest’- 1976)
The 'Rocky' franchise began in 1976. The sports drama triumphed at the Academy Awards. The song "Gonna Fly Now" was nominated and, despite being 1 of the most recognizable music tracks from the world of cinema, did not win! Nevertheless, the single did climb to the top of the US charts. The song complements 1 of the key scenes in the film.

(‘Goldfinger’- 1964)
The third movie in the Bond franchise was 'Goldfinger'. The song, executed with a sassy and uber-cool vocal from Shirley Bassey, set the blueprint for future 007 title songs. It marked a turning point in the presentation of the opening song, as well as a new approach to the selection of the performing act. From here on, all other Bond songs would be compared with "Goldfinger".

'Titanic' still stands as 1 of the highest grossing box office films. The movie dealt with the tragic sinking of the luxury ship in 1912. Leonardo DiCaprio starred opposite Kate Winslet in the James Cameron directed epic. The film collected 11 Oscars. Celine Dion sang the ballad and the film's success extended to her song. "My Heart Will Go On" was lauded at both the Academy and Grammy Awards. On the charts, the song reached #1 in the USA, UK, Europe, Canada and Australia

Eminem starred in the film '8 Mile'. His song "Lose Yourself" was awarded the Oscar for Best Original Song. The single topped the charts in America, Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
