BACK TO BROADWAY: 

BARBRA STREISAND

After the major success of 'The Broadway Album', a sequel was a no-brainer. As the title suggests, Barbra Streisand returned to New York's Great White Way as the source of material for the album. The song selection and production lacks the quality and variety of its predecessor, but there are some memorable moments. "Sunset Boulevard" provides 2 numbers: "With One Look" and "As If We Never Said Goodbye". Here, Streisand infuses the songs with drama and that golden voice. "Children Will Listen" has some thought-provoking lyrics. "Luck Be A Lady" sees Streisand paying tribute to her screen idol Marlon Brando. Jazz fans should rejoice with her tender reading of the Gershwin classic "The Man I Love".
