LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS
 Said to have been inspired by his son Julian's drawing, John wrote most of "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds". Paul did contribute some lyrics. It has long been suggested that the title was a reference to LSD. Either way, the track marked a new sonic execution. With George Martin at the helm, the band kept its music fresh and innovative. John sings lead. The song was recorded in 1967 and defines the psychedelic era of the 1960s. It was included on 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band'. |

MY SWEET LORD
George Harrison
Harrison is at his most spiritual on "My Sweet Lord", but he never alienates non-believers. It is a soothing meditative song. Issued in 1970, the single was a massive hit, reaching #1 in Britain, America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. It helped boost sales of his solo debut album 'All Things Must Pass'. He was sued and lost in 1976. The publisher of The Chiffons' "He's So Fine" argued that the former Beatle's hit sounded too similar to the girl group classic.
