A RANKING OF THE 41 SONGS FROM EUROVISION 2019.
This post: #24. Continues tomorrow.
EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2019
THE 41 SONGS
(ranked in order of preference)
The Eurovision Song Contest begins in
Tel Aviv on May 14. Two semi-finals will see 35 songs reduced to 20 and join
last year’s winning nation Israel alongside the pre-qualified ‘Big 5’ countries
(France, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom & Germany) in the Grand Final 4 days
later.
The songs are ranked in order of song
quality, starting with the weakest of the 41 entries. Preferences may change
once they are performed live during the Semi-Finals.
24 ICELAND
HATRIO MUN SIGRA
HATARI
Performed in Icelandic, this song will be competing in
Semi-Final 1. Just like the Portuguese entry ranked here just below it, this
will be an interesting one to watch. Will the Eurovision audience reward
Iceland’s daring or reject it as too “out
there”? Hatari’s song is performance art with an industrial / techno sound.
It is radical enough to deserve a place in the Grand Final. The song may turn out to be
Iceland’s Lordi: giving the country its first ESC victory.
