BANKS
OF THE OHIO
OLIVIA
NEWTON-JOHN
This
song begins innocently enough: a woman asks her lover to go for a walk
with her. The chorus refers to the couple being together forever. Suddenly, the
song takes an unexpected turn: she holds a knife against his breast. The woman
ignores his pleading and kills him. We then discover that she murdered him
because he would not marry her.
