Not to be confused with the 2006 Bond film of the same name, the 1967 ‘Casino Royale’ features David Niven playing 007. The latter is not an Eon approved movie. This ‘Casino Royale’ is a parody and is only loosely based on the Ian Fleming novel which bears the identical name.
The film’s premiere meant that 2 Bond adventures made it to the big screen during 1967. That year also saw the arrival of ‘You Only Live Twice’ with Sean Connery continuing in the main role.
The ‘Casino Royale’ soundtrack featured mainly music composed by Burt Bacharach. Alpert’s instrumental track was used as the main title and peaked at #27 in America and Britain.
