Roger Moore was back portraying 007 for a second time in ‘The Man With The Golden Gun’. Shock rocker Alice Cooper wrote a song that was considered for the title song. His recording featured Liza Minnelli, Ronnie Spector and The Pointer Sisters on background vocals. According to Cooper, his offering arrived too late to be used. Lulu had already been selected to record a different song with the same name for the film. Cooper’s song wound up on his 1973 album ‘Muscle Of Love’. Some would argue that his song would have been a suitable follow-up to Wings' "Live And Let Die" in the preceding film. Christopher Lee, who was cast as the villain Scaramanga in the 1974 motion picture, is said to have preferred Cooper's song to Lulu's.
