ALL THE EUROVISION COUNTRIES: (13). More: tomorrow.
Caffè ☕️Lattè looks back on:
ALL THE
EUROVISION
COUNTRIES
The Eurovision Song Contest was first held in 1956. Back then, only 7 countries participated. In the decades since, dozens of other nations have joined the ESC family. As Europe changed, countries faded into history as new countries and new names emerged. Eurovision itself has expanded beyond the European continent; to Africa, the Middle East and the Southern Hemisphere.
Our spotlight looks back on every country that has competed – in chronological order.
1960
The fifth Eurovision Song Contest was held in London, England. In 1960, the return of Luxembourg and the debut of the third Scandinavian country lifted the number of participating nations to a record-breaking thirteen.

NORWAY
Following the debuts of Denmark and Sweden in recent years, Norway joined the Eurovision family in 1960. Over its 63 participations, the Norwegian entry has finished last the most times (11) and has received zero points in 4 Contests. Conversely, Norway has won at Eurovision with 3 songs: “La Det Swinge” in 1985 (Bobbysocks), “Nocturne” 1995 (Secret Garden) and “Fairytale” 2009 (Alexander Rybak). The latter is one of the highest-scoring and popular Eurovision songs of all-time.
