YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN

As had been the case with “ME!”, follow-up single “You Need To Calm Down” was unable to dislodge Lil Nas X’s global hit “Old Town Road” from the top of the US chart. Taylor Swift may have missed out on another #1, but this single saw the singer / songwriter affect more Billboard Hot 100 statistics.

“You Need To Calm Down” was Swift’s sixth song to peak in the runner-up position, equalling the record for female artists held by Madonna. The single also became Tay Tay’s sixteenth song to debut within the US Top 10. Only Drake has accomplished more (20).

Elsewhere, the single reached the Top 5 in Britain, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. Swift co-wrote and co-produced the track from her album ‘Lover’ with Joel Little of New Zealand band Goodnight Nurse.
