Elvis Costello collaborated with legendary composer Burt Bacharach in the 1990s. The end result was the splendid 'Painted From Memory' album. Issued in 1998, the record featured many beautiful tracks. Costello excelled himself with the lyrics for the poignant ballad "This House Is Empty Now". The track finds the protagonist alone in the home he had previously shared with his ex.
