Tanya Tucker recorded the first version of "Delta Dawn" in 1972. Record producer Tom Catalano then pitched it to Barbra Streisand. She rejected it. Helen Reddy was offered the song & turned it into a chart-topping hit in the U.S.A., Australia and Canada.
