EUROVISION 2024
THE 37 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has remained the same with Romania withdrawing and Luxembourg returning after an absence of 31 years. This year, the ESC will be held in host city Malmö, Sweden in May following that country’s seventh win in 2023. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the 37 entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song.
This year, all of the 37 entries have redeeming qualities. Unusually, there is no major standout, but none of the songs for the 2024 Contest are woeful. Therefore, even the songs at the bottom are not there because of low appeal, but because the ones ranked higher are slightly superior.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song once the Semi-Finals begin.

THE CODE
Nemo
Switzerland
The Swiss entry has recently emerged as the hot favourite to win Eurovision in 2024. “The Code” will be competing in Semi-Final 2. Nemo’s songs often deal with gender identity and they have a solid song for Eurovision. The entry improves with repeated listens and should easily land in the Top 3 in the Grand Final, if not a win.
#9
MON AMOUR
Slimane
France
The beauty of the French language can lift almost any song and that is certainly the case with this year’s “Mon Amour”. Its title means “my love”. Slimane wrote the lyrics and helped compose the music for this entry. As one of the Big 5 countries that automatically qualify, France will be prominent during the Grand Final.
#8
WE WILL RAVE
Kaleen
Austria
With an accessible dance beat, Austria can hope to repeat the success achieved last year with “Who The Hell Is Edgar?”. Televoters will be attracted to its retro 90s feel during Semi-Final 2.
#7
FIGHTER
Tali
Luxembourg
TALI has been selected to sing for Luxembourg following an absence of three decades. The small nation has already won at Eurovision on 5 occasions, despite the lengthy gap between participations. “Fighter” is to be sung in English and French. It is well-crafted and should be warmly greeted by the juries happy to see Luxembourg back.
#6
EUROPAPA
Joost
The Netherlands
The Dutch entry has recently crept up as one of the strong contenders for the 2024 Contest. It is an obvious successor to Finland’s “Cha Cha Cha”. Improving its chances are verses in other languages, but its lyrics are mainly in Dutch. This is catchy and an effective execution on the stage should ensure its success in making the Grand Final. It will remind many of the hits of 2 Unlimited and The Vengaboys. The Netherlands will be the last country to perform in the semi-finals.
