"Refugee" was the third US Top 40 hit for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. In 1980, the track was lifted off the previous year's 'Damn The Torpedoes' album. Petty co-wrote the song with Mike Campbell from his backing band The Heartbreakers. The track was co-produced by Petty and Jimmy Iovine.
