Caffè Lattè presents… THE 100 ESSENTIAL SONGS BY DONNA SUMMER Donna Summer released one final album – ‘All Systems Go’- for Geffen Records in 1987. Two years later, she emerged with ‘Another Place And Time’ which saw her work with writer/ producers Stock- Aitken- Waterman. Among its tracks was the hit single “This Time I Know It’s For Real”.

40 STOP ME Pete Bellotte and Keith Forsey wrote “Stop Me” which leaned towards punk, another genre that Donna comfortably explored on ‘The Wanderer’.

39 MELODY OF LOVE (WANNA BE LOVED) Donna released this single in 1994. Written by her with Joe Carrasco and the C+C Music Factory’s Robert Clivilles and David Cole, the song topped Billboard’s Dance Chart and reached #21 on the British Pop Top 40. |
38 NOW I NEED YOU Donna’s voice blends seamlessly with Giorgio Moroder’s synthesizer magic on the ‘Once Upon A Time’ track “Now I Need You”. |
37 BREAKDOWN Prior to recording ‘The Wanderer’ album, Donna became a born-again Christian. The changes in her life are reflected on the LP’s tracks. “Breakdown” was written by Pete Bellotte and Harold Faltermeyer. |
36 PROTECTION An unlikely collaboration with Bruce Springsteen was included on ‘Donna Summer’. ‘The Boss’ penned the song on which he performed the guitar solo.
