Kick-started with Los Bravos in 1966, Euro-Pop began to impact the pop charts in the 1970s. The sound of this genre was mainly developed by acts in countries like The Netherlands, Sweden, Italy and Germany and was incorporated in some British hits. The momentum continued in the 1980s, leading the way for acts such as Roxette, Ace Of Base, Snap! and Steps in the 1990s.
