CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

#491 SUMMER MOVED ON A-Ha
A-Ha formed in Oslo in 1980 and will always be remembered for their breakthrough 1985 hit "Take On Me" with its iconic video. The Norwegian outfit continued releasing new music during the subsequent decades, scoring hits that included "The Sun Always Shines On TV", "Cry Wolf" and "The Living Daylights" (the title song from the James Bond film).
There was a 7-year gap between albums which ended with 'Minor Earth Major Sky' in 2000. One of its tracks is the beautiful "Summer Moved On", written by the group's principal songwriter and guitarist Pal Waaktaar. The single reached the top in Norway and gained Top 10 status in Austria and Germany. In Britain, the disc peaked at #33.
A-Ha announced their split in 2009. Final single "Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah)" was issued the following year. In 2012, King Harald appointed the trio Knights of the Norwegian Royal Order of St. Olav. Lead singer Morten Harket has continued recording as a soloist, releasing the brilliant "Scared of Heights" that year. Waaktaar has formed a new band, Savoy. Keyboardist Magne Furuholmen has also continued working in the music industry.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
