CAFFE` LATTE`
TOP 1200 CHOICE TRACKS

Mid-week bonus - 1 new song will be added every 6 hours throughout today
#487 I KNOW HIM SO WELL Elaine Paige & Barbara Dickson
ABBA's Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus teamed up with Tim Rice to compose a musical entitled "Chess". The album was recorded and issued years before the show was performed on stage. Unleashed in 1984, the album contained 2 major hit songs: "One Night in Bangkok (a #1 single in Australia for Murray Head) and the big showstopper "I Know Him So Well'. The latter was performed by 2 British stage veterans Elaine Paige and Barbara Dickson. The 3 males behind the creation of the music also produced the recording. The duet reached #1 in Britain where it ruled for 4 weeks.
"Chess", the stage musical finally opened in London's West End in 1986 and enjoyed a 3-year run. A retweaked version opened on Broadway in 1988 but closed soon after. The show has undergone more transformation since and has toured the world.
Rice had worked previously with Andrew Lloyd Webber on stage hits that include "Jesus Christ Superstar" and "Evita". He also collaborated with Elton John for 'The Lion King'. The 2 former members of ABBA went on to create another musical: "Kristina Fran Duvemala" in the 1990s.

This is a list made up of the songs I enjoy the most, ranked in order of preference: the higher we go, the more I cherish them. Some were released as singles, others as album tracks. Some are obscure; others were worldwide hits or have universal appeal. They aren't always the most famous or popular, but simply a personal choice. I have excluded songs from the last few years in order to get a better idea of a song's lasting impression. I hope you find some new tracks to love, or re-discover some past favourites.
2 new songs are added each day (every 12 hours)  with a mid-week bonus every Wednesday.
