STAYIN’
ALIVE
Bee Gees
The Bee Gees created "Stayin' Alive", one of the best known dance tracks of all-time, for the 'Saturday Night Fever' film and its soundtrack album. The single was a worldwide smash hit that helped propel the parent album into the record books in terms of sales. Disco was losing momentum when it was issued in late 1977. The Gibb brothers gave the genre a new lease, this time surpassing its previous popularity. The Bee Gees dominated charts around the world with the group's own hits as well as songs written for the likes of Yvonne Elliman, Samantha Sang, Andy Gibb and Tavares.
