Caffé Latte` celebrates Elton John’s 70th birthday on March 25 and a half century of songwriting with Bernie Taupin with a retrospective highlighting:

VICTIM OF LOVE
Year: 1979
Album: Victim Of Love
With disco dominating the music scene in the late 1970s, many acts jumped on the bandwagon. These included The Rolling Stones, Barbra Streisand, Rod Stewart, Dolly Parton, Wings, Cher and Leo Sayer. In some cases, disco gave these acts a resurgence as well as some of their greatest successes. In Elton's case, the 'Victim Of Love' album teamed him up with Donna Summer writer / producer Pete Bellotte. The title track was written by the producer, Sylvester Levay and Jerry Rix.

BURNING BRIDGES
Year: 1984
Album: Breaking Hearts
An instrumental medley
The 'Breaking Hearts' album was released in the same year that Elton married Renate Blauel in Sydney, Australia. The marriage was terminated 4 years later. She had engineered the album. "Burning Buildings", a track from the LP, was written by Elton with Bernie Taupin.

THE HEART OF EVERY GIRL
Year: 2003
Album: Mona Lisa Smile (film soundtrack)
Elton contributed "The Heart Of Every Girl" to the motion picture soundtrack for the Julia Roberts film 'Mona Lisa Smile'. The cute song was written by Elton with Taupin. Trevor Horn produced the track.

BLESSED
Year: 1995
Album: Made In England
Elton co-wrote the tracks on 'Made In England' with Taupin. "Blessed" is its closing track. The ballad was the 3rd single lifted off the album.

YOU GOTTA LOVE SOMEONE
Year:  1990
Album: Days Of Thunder (film soundtrack)
"You Gotta Love Someone" was featured on the soundtrack for the film 'Days Of Thunder' which starred Tom Cruise. It was also included on the 'Very Best Of Elton John' compilation album. Elton co-wrote the song with Taupin. Don Was produced it. The track reached #1 on the American Adult Contemporary Chart.  Proceeds from the single were split between various charities.

HOME AGAIN
Year: 2013
Album: The Diving Board
Elton's 31st studio album 'The Diving Board' was produced by T Bone Burnette. All of the music was composed by Elton, with lyrics by Taupin. "Home Again" was the album's lead single.

BALLAD OF THE BOY IN
THE RED SHOES
Year: 2001
Album: Songs From The West Coast
Patrick Leonard produced 'Songs From The West Coast', one of Elton's best albums in years. "Ballad Of The Boy In The Red Shoes" deals with HIV/ A.I.D.S.

THE BITCH IS BACK
Year: 1974
Album: Caribou
"The Bitch Is Back" is a signature song of sorts for Elton, who co-wrote it with Taupin. Gus Dudgeon produced the track. The single topped the Canadian chart and peaked at #4 in America.

TOO LOW FOR ZERO
Year: 1983
Album: Too Low For Zero
The title track from Elton's successful album 'Too Low For Zero' is also its lengthiest song, running for 5 minutes and 46 seconds. Taupin co-wrote it with Elton. The LP was produced by Chris Thomas.

THE WORLD

Album: Leather Jackets
'Leather Jackets' was universally rejected by critics and fans alike. It has 2 redeemable moments: a duet with Cliff Richard "Slow Rivers" and lead single "Heartache All Over The World". Both were penned by Elton and Taupin. The solo song fared best in Australia where it peaked at #7.
