As more countries wished to
participate in the Eurovision Song
Contest, Semi-Finals became necessary by 1993 in order to limit the duration of
the Grand Final. This countdown looks back on 45 culled – but worthy- entries
that failed to progress from a Semi-Final and therefore missed out on competing
in the Grand Final:

TAKES 2 TO TANGO

2004 FINLAND
Finland had tried in vain to secure its first Eurovision win. "Takes 2 To Tango" was catchy and fun, but the song failed to progress from the Semi-Final. It finished 14th in a field of 22 entries. Two years later, "Hard Rock Hallelujah" finally achieved a Finnish victory.
