Caffé Latté looks back on
the key moments of Europe’s annual competition.
1975
ABBA's victory in 1974 brought Eurovision to host city Stockholm the following year. That contest saw the implementation of a voting process that continues to this day. Each country's jury would award points to the 10 songs it judged the best. Juries allocated 12 points to its top choice; 10 points to the 2nd best; 8 for the 3rd most preferred; 7 for its 4th choice and so on.
Dutch entry "Ding-A-Dong", emulating the sound of "Waterloo", took the top prize. This was the 4th win for The Netherlands. It has yet to win again.
