100 SONGS THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

💥2 That’s All Right Mama

Elvis Presley

That's All Right.jpgEarly rock ‘n’ roll records were variations on rhythm & blues songs. Elvis Presley meshed R&B with country and rockabilly in a unique style. Sam Phillips had long been searching for a white singer with a ‘black’ sound. He found it in Presley. “That’s All Right Mama” was recorded almost by chance after Phillips teamed the youngster with Scotty Moore and Bill Black. The trio cut a remake of the Arthur Crudup song at Sun Studios. This became Elvis’ debut single. The rest is history.
