THE EUROVISION SONG CONTEST: The 40 Songs Ranked. #15-11.
EUROVISION 2022
THE 40 SONGS
(in order of preference)
The number of competitors for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest has decreased to 40 with the banning of Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine. This year, the 2022 ESC will be held in host city Turin, Italy in May. Caffè Lattè has ranked all of the entries in terms of sonic quality, as it does annually. The higher the ranking, the better the song. This post’s entries are among the more interesting songs in this year’s field.
*Note that a live performance and the on-stage presentation may alter the overall impact of a song.

ICELAND
Iceland is still chasing its first Eurovision win. Its 2022 entry will be performed in Icelandic during Semi-Final 2. The song is worthy of a place in the Grand Final. Its title means “With The Rising Sun”.
#14

Slovenia
Slovenia never repeats itself, offering a diversity of genres from year to year. For 2022, its entry is a fun and catchy song that evokes the disco era. It deserves to make it through from Semi-Final 1 to the Grand Final. The song will be sung in Slovene.

Denmark
Denmark has gone with an interesting song that has hooks and deserves to stand out during the first Semi-Final. A lack of better entries will hopefully work in its favour.
#12
HOPE
Stefan
Estonia
It will be interesting to see how this Estonian entry fares. It has a country and western edge over a dance beat. Competing in Semi-Final 2 will make it harder to qualify for the Grand Final, but the song deserves to get there.

LIÁMAME

Romania
Despite being worthy of a spot in the Grand Final, the Romanian entry may be overshadowed by the stronger choices in the second Semi-Final. It will be performed in English and Spanish. The song’s title translates as “Call Me”.
