-Nirvana's 'Nevermind' album reaches #1 in the US.
-Kurt Cobain marries Courtney Love.
-"November Rain" by Guns N' Roses becomes the longest Top 20 US hit ever (at 8:57 minutes).
-Whitney Houston marries Bobby Brown.
-Sinead O'Connor creates controversy after ripping up a photo of the Pope on US TV.
-"End of the Road" becomes the longest running US #1 single in the Rock Era (12 weeks).
-Kylie Minogue breaks ties with Stock, Aitken & Waterman.
-Bill Wyman announces he is leaving The Rolling Stones.
In 1992, grunge finally reached the mainstream. Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" became a new anthem for the youth of the time. Pearl Jam also crossed over to a pop audience with 'Ten'. The Red Hot Chili Peppers broke through with "Under The Bridge". Various new releases fused different genres. These included : "Jump Around" (House of Pain); "Set Adrift On Memory Bliss" (P.M. Dawn) and Arrested Development.
