GIRL ON FIRE: ALICIA KEYS

Released around the time of her marriage and becoming a mother, 'Girl On Fire' was a celebratory turning point for the exceptional performer. Key's talent has long been obvious and impressive. On her 2012 album, Keys allows in a number of collaborators. The record begins with the lush "De Novo Adagio" which effortlessly leads into "Brand New Me". This is the album's best moment: a fruitful co-write with Emeli Sandé. There are 2 other songs they wrote together. Frank Ocean, Bruno Mars and John Legend are among the others enlisted for this project. Compared to previous albums, this is weaker and less cohesive; but it is still a rewarding listen. Highlight tracks: Brand New Me; That's When I Knew & Girl On Fire.
