George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou June
25, 1963 in London. He met and befriended Andrew Ridgeley while in high
school. The two teens were determined to realize their musical ambitions. After
a failed attempt with the group The Executive formed in 1979, the two became
a duo named Wham! in 1981.
They signed a deal with Innervision which led to the
release of debut album ‘Fantastic’ 2 years later. Four singles were
issued off that LP and all of them cracked the UK Top 10. ‘Fantastic’
reached #1 in Britain and was followed by sophomore album ‘Make It Big’ in
1984.
