8 YOUNG GUNS (GO FOR IT) Wham! 1983- Fantastic Originally issued in 1982, the single began to waver on the UK charts. It was in danger of being the second Wham! disc to fail at cracking the Top 40, until luck intervened. An act scheduled for an appearance on influential British weekly TV music program “Top Of The Pops” pulled out and a replacement was required. Wham! had not achieved the chart action normally required for a spot on the program, but were asked to fill in. They did and this gave “Young Guns (Go For It)” wider exposure. This was the second single released by George and Andrew. The TV appearance propelled the duo upwards, with the disc peaking at #3 in the UK and going Top 5 in other European countries as well as in Australia and New Zealand. Wham! had arrived.   Caffè Lattè presents a tribute to one of pop music’s greatest performers. In 2023, he would have celebrated his 60th birthday.
