George Michael was born Georgios Kyriacos Panayiotou
June 25, 1963 in London. He met and befriended Andrew Ridgeley while in
high school. The two teens were determined to realize their musical
ambitions. The two became a duo named Wham! in 1981.
In 1986. George began to focus on the next phase of
his career: as a soloist. He scored global smash hits duetting with Aretha
Franklin and Elton John. Debut solo album ‘Faith’, issued in 1987, spawned
no less than 4 US #1 singles. Next was ‘Listen Without Prejudice Vol. 1’
dropped in 1990 and a UK No. 1; followed by the chart-topping ‘Older’ in
1996 from which 2 #1 singles were lifted.
