While on the Motown label, The Spinners were overshadowed by other groups such as The Temptations and The Four Tops. Only one single, "It's A Shame" made the Top 20. After switching to Atlantic Records, The Spinners scored the first of 7 Top 10 hits in the U.S.A. with "I'll Be Around".
