On her 2004 album release 'Hymns of the 49th Parallel', K.D. Lang celebrated the music of Canada. As one of that country's best musical exports, she covered songs written by the likes of Neil Young, Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. "Simple" was a song penned by Lang with David Piltch.
