OLETA ADAMS

American vocalist Oleta Adams was born in 1953. Her big break came when discovered singing in a hotel in Kansas City by Curt Smith of Tears For Tears. Fans of the British act were wowed by her vocal contribution on its 1989 album 'The Seeds Of Love'. 

Roland Orzabal from Tears For Fears co-produced Adams' debut album 'Circle Of One'. It featured her breakthrough single "Get Here". Other tracks of note include: "You've Got To Give Me Room", "I Just Had To Hear Your Voice" and "I Knew You When". She has demonstrated her vocal skills on stunning covers of songs such as "New York State Of Mind' and "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me". 

Adams has mastered a range of genres, ranging from soul, gospel, jazz and adult contemporary.
