EN VOGUE  

Producers Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy created En Vogue in an effort to marry the girl group tradition of the 1950s and '60s with the new jill swing genre. In 1988, after an audition process, they settled on a line-up comprised of Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, Dawn Robinson and Maxine Jones. 

Debut album 'Born To Sing' emerged 2 years later. Lead single "Hold On" became the 1st of 6 R&B Chart #1s. The female group crossed more genres on the follow-up 'Funky Divas'. En Vogue then collaborated with Salt-N-Pepa on the dynamic single "Whatta Man". Other hits included: "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)", "You Don't Have To Worry", "Lies" and "Free Your Mind".

Next smash "Don't Let Go (Love)" was featured on the 'Set It Off' film soundtrack around the time Robinson quit the group. Reduced to a trio, En Vogue unleashed 'EV3' in 1997. Further line-up changes ensued. The current group features Ellis, Maxine Jones and Rhona Bennett.
