LOAF
Marvin Lee Aday was born in 1947. The Texan relocated to California where he began pursuing his musical aspirations. He formed a group, joined the cast of the musical "Hair" and was briefly signed to Motown Records. His 1st significant accomplishment was a role in the cult film version of 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show'.
Around this time, he met up with songwriter Jim Steinman. Eventually, the 2 were to record 1 of rock's classic albums: 'Bat Out Of Hell'. Suddenly, Meat Loaf was a household name. The LP has since become of the best selling of all time.
Litigation between Loaf and Steinman prevented a sequel; the former recording follow-ups with no input from the latter. 1981's 'Dead Ringer' featured a duet with Cher. The other LPs were largely ignored.
Finally, in 1993, Loaf re-united with Steinman. The result was the album 'Bat Out Of Hell II: Back Into Hell'. Sales went upward. The track "I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That)" reached #1 in America, Britain, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Loaf has continued recording albums, including 'Braver Than We Are' in 2016- another collaboration with Steinman. It reached #4 in the UK.
