Queen
This single and “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” were issued prior to the arrival of ‘The Game’. Written by Brian May, “Save Me” peaked at #11 in the UK and made the Top 10 in Norway, Italy, the Netherlands and Ireland.

9 TO 5 (MORNING TRAIN)
Sheena Easton
Originally entitled simply “9 To 5”, the words in parenthesis were added to avoid confusion with another song with the same title out at the time, by Dolly Parton. Both topped the US Hot 100. Sheena Easton’s “9 To 5” proved the most successful, reaching #1 in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. In Britain, the disc peaked at #3.

Just as ‘Silk Degrees’ had its big ballad “We’re All Alone”, so too did ‘Middle Man’ contain this love song. Penned by Boz Scaggs and David Foster, “You Can Have Me Anytime” featured a guitar solo performed by Carlos Santana.

THEME FROM ‘NEW YORK, NEW YORK’
Frank Sinatra
The legendary Frank Sinatra enjoyed a chart revival with this cover of the title song from the 1977 film starring Robert De Niro and Liza Minnelli (who recorded the original version for the motion picture). This soon became yet another signature song for the ‘Chairman of the Board’.

Barbra Streisand & Barry Gibb
Although written by all 3 members of The Bee Gees, the title track from ‘Guilty’ was recorded as a duet by Barbra Streisand and just one Gibb brother: Barry. The single barely dented the UK Top 40 but reached #3 in America.

This track on ‘Super Trouper’ features Frida Lyngstad on lead vocals. She recorded a Spanish version of the song in 2017 with trumpeter Arturo Sandoval.

I AIN’T GONNA STAND FOR IT
Stevie Wonder
The second single lifted off ‘Hotter Than July’ became a Top 10 hit in Britain, Canada and New Zealand. On the Billboard US Hot 100, the disc reached #11 as well as #4 on the Soul Chart.
