I’M NOT GONNA MISS YOU
“…You’re the last person
I will love,
you’re the last face I will recall.
And best of all,
I’m not gonna miss you...
Glen Campbell was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2011. This inspired him to co-write "I'm Not Gonna Miss You" with Justin Raymond. The song's lyrics deal with Campbell's decline as he bravely confronts his future.
A final concert tour was filmed and featured in the documentary 'Glen Campbell: I'll Be Me' and earned an Academy Award nomination.
The heart-rending song gained even more poignancy when Campbell passed away on August 8, 2017. The singer / songwriter was aged 81.

Dusty Springfield scored a British chart topper in 1966 with "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me". The single also reached #4 in America. Its English lyrics were written for Springfield after she discovered the original while in Italy.
The British singer was attending the annual San Remo Festival in Italy. This song contest inspired Eurovision and it is where the Italian entry is chosen. Springfield was impressed when she heard the Italian original. One of its co-writers, Pino Donaggio, performed it as a San Remo finalist.

Elvis Presley later covered "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" for his 1970 album 'That's The way It Is'. Released as a single, the King's remake peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Adult Contemporary Chart.

THE GREATEST DISCOVERY
“…His puzzled head
tipped to one side,
amazement swims
in those bright green eyes,
glancing down upon this thing,
that makes strange sounds,
strange sounds that sing...
"The Greatest Discovery" is a track from Elton John's self-titled breakthrough album. Issued in 1970, its tracks made the British musician a star.
Bernie Taupin's lyrics for "The Greatest Discovery" are from the perspective of a child. There is much excitement in his home. A new addition to the family has arrived. The child looks on in wonder at his younger brother.
